Painting the Classical Portrait - ONLINE DEMONSTRATION - July 27th

A special, three hour, demonstration with tutor Michael J. Doherty, where the viewer will be taken through the making of a portrait using traditional methods. Michael combines classical and contemporary practices, creating a comprehensive approach to representing anatomical forms.

Core concepts such as volume, contrast, light, shadow and surface construction coincide with Michael’s own techniques of abstraction. This culminates in a unique approach which guides the physical act of painting and creative visualisation.

A half hour Q&A session will follow the demo.
