About the event
Works by Michael Doherty and Alastair Blain. Artists dedicated to a cultural revival of the materials, methods and themes of historical painting.
The “EARTH AND ETHOS” event evening is the opportunity to view the two artist’s works in the flesh, hear poetry recitals, and view demonstrations from both artists. The evening will also have complimentary music and drinks.
Alastair Blain's work represents a "Myth-scape,” a physical representation of vast, mythical landscape. It invites viewers to explore an open, timeless expanse.
Alastiar's poetry manifests in tandem with his artwork, influenced deeply by the landscapes and folklore of Scotland. Together his writings and paintings form his body of work, musing on the universal human experiences of searching to belong, community and connection.
Michael J. Doherty is an academic realist painter, through narrative, myth and figurative drawings and paintings, his work, and that of Alistair Blain’s, represent the renewal of the artistic practice of the great masters of Europe.
